The mutations are divided into three groups: Biogenetics, Psi-Powers and Upgrade Resistances. The last one upgrades your elemental resistances in return for payment so there’s no science to it. There is more to other two and many useful powers. So here’s a list of the most useful ones in most cases.
First, let’s look at the Biogenetic ones:
Possibly the most useful power for exploring. It makes a mushroom appear on the ground, which you can use to bounce off and jump higher. Plus, you can spawn the fungus in a pool of slime, which is very useful, if you have a good Ki energy level.
Storm Hop
An offensive power, quite a bit more useful that it seems. It lets you get rid of small enemies that are very close by.
Mucus Bubble
An offensive power. When you use it, you can roll over normal enemies and they’ll get stuck to the bubble. If you pop it with the shoot or attack button, you can launch those enemies into a slime or water mass, finishing them off instantly.
And there are the Psi-Powers:
Spark Ball
This power allows you to launch bursts of fire balls or charge a much more powerful fire ball. Many enemies are vulnerable to this attack and since you can unlock it quite early on, it’s very practical.
Skyspark
This is the final power in the Dark Aura. It lets you cast a bolt of lightning with a powerful shock wave. It deals massive damage and throws enemies into the air, which helps you clear small areas at a stroke. It’s a bit hard to use because you have to select the impact zone and press the launch button when you return.
Ki Spark
The counterpart to the previous ability, the final one in the Light Aura. It is a constant discharge of electricity that will incapacitate any small enemies within reach, electrocuting them and dealing damage until you press the ability button again.
