Marvel Snap Beginner’s Guide: Best Decks For Pool 1

Marvel Snap is a new card battler game in the vast Marvel multiverse, which sees villains, heroes and anti-heroes join forces in a card game that’s full of possibilities.

You’ll start Marvel Snap in Pool 1, which encompasses the first 214 levels of the collection. For this first stage, both you and your opponents will have access to a limited number of cards, although you can already start building powerful and difficult-to-counter strategies and synergies.

We’ve rounded up the best decks that will give you the highest chances of crushing your rivals and climbing the ranks as Quicksilver.

Odin Tiger Deck

Elektra
Nightwalker
Rocket
Mister Sinister
Sentinel
Ironheart
Wolfsbane
Enchantress
Jessica Jones
White Tiger
Gamora
Odin

This archetype—which is pretty simple to obtain—leverages the On Reveal mechanic, a special effect your card will do when you lower the card.

The idea of this deck is to use Odin for a strong turn 6, as he’ll allow you to re-trigger the On Reveal effects of cards you’ve already played.

Ironheart, and in particular White Tiger, will be the most interesting cards to play before you bring in Odin. By duplicating their effects, you’ll often be able to change the direction of the games.

One of the most important keys to this deck is to boost White Tiger. Keep in mind that her tiger can’t occupy an entire space.

Always try to predict where your Odin will go. One classic mistake is filling in a space with White Tiger on turn 5, because then you won’t be able to re-trigger her effect on turn 6.

Discard Deck

Blade
Nightwalker
Elektra
Wolverine
Lady Sif
Angela
Korg
Sword Master
Yondu
Ant-Man
America Chavez
Apocalypse

The point of this deck is to drop an Apocalypse with between 12 and 20 power in turn 6.

Cards like Lady Sif, Blade or Sword Master are strong on paper, but have a huge trade-off, which is that they discard a card. With Apocalypse, you turn this drawback to your advantage!
Don’t be afraid to empty your hand.

Even so, pay close attention to the order in which you place your cards to optimise your Angela!

In some situations, it’s best to wait until you have Apocalypse in your hand before playing Lady Sif.

With America Chavez or Apocalypse, your turn 6 will still pack a punch, but will be focused on a single zone. In other words, you can change the direction of a location, but only one. Use this info in your favour to either snap or withdraw.

Onslaught Zoo Deck

Ant-Man
Elektra
Korg
Squirrel Girl
Angela
CaptainAmerica
Nightwalker
Blue Marvel
Kazar
Iron Man
America Chavez
Onslaught

This deck is simple to play but just as effective.

Make sure you fill in your spaces for Ant-Man and Angela correctly.

If you run into a place like Necrosha, where your cards will have two less power, sometimes you’ll have to focus entirely on the other two.

Angela should always start by filling in a space.

With Nightcrawler, you’ll technically be able to trigger Angela 4 times throughout the game.
