Best TFT Set 7 Opening Comps

Whether you’re new to this type of game or not, with the beginning of any new set you’ll need to learn all the new synergies and choose them wisely. But don’t worry, because we’ve got you covered with the best compositions to get you started in the latest TFT set.

But first, a warning: all these comps need a fast 8. This means that you’ll have to reach level 8 quickly to get the highest-priced cards. In the end, these compositions are going to be full of 3-, 4- and 5-cost champions.

1. Dragon and Astral

This is the first of the compositions you’ll need to take to level 8 as soon as possible. Start with three Astral units, like Vladimir, Nidalee and Nami. You can exchange any of these cards for Illaoi or Varus. It’ll be crucial to get both Lulu and Sylas early to transition.

Ornn will be the next character, alongside Hecarim. Eventually you’ll get to Zoe and Bardo.

Everything will end with the most expensive champion card in the game: Aurelion Sol.

Opening cards: Astral (3) Nidalee, Vladimir, Nami, Varus or Illaoi; Lulu and Sylas

Closing cards: Lulu, Sylas, Ornn, Hecarim, Bardo, Zoe and Aurelion Sol.

Key items: Ornn –> Bramble Vest, Dragon’s Claw and Warmog’s Armor; Aurelion Sol –> Mage Trait, Spear of Sojin and Rabadon’s Deathcap

2. Jade and Dragon

While this composition isn’t as aggressive as the previous one, Jade will allow you to last a little longer in the early game and transition safely.

Start with a comp full of low-cost Jades, such as Taric, Gnar and Karma or Ashe. Back them up with Tristana, Anivia and, of course, Lulu. With this comp you’ll end up with the Jade Dragon, otherwise known as Shi Oh Yu.

Opening cards: Taric, Gnar (Karma or Ashe); Tristana, Anivia and Lulu.

Closing cards: Anivia, Lulu, Ornn, Neeko, Shi Oh Yu, Bardo and Soraka.

Key items: Anivia –> Archangel’s Staff, Hextech Gunblade and Morellonomicon.

3. Mirage and Dragon

Virtually all compositions follow the same pattern: an early game in which everything will either go well or badly followed by a late game in which, if everything goes well, you will destroy your rivals. Your carry will once again be a Dragon, in this case,
Daeja.

You’ll also need a good front lane, so Ornn will be a key piece in your composition.

Opening cards: Aatrox, Shen, Yone, Nunu and Olaf.

Closing cards: Lulu, Nunu, Hecarim, Neeko, Ornn, Daeja and Bardo.

Key items: Ornn –> Bramble Vest, Dragon’s Claw and Warmog’s Armor; Daeja –> Guinsoo’s Rageblade, Hextech Gunblade and Belt.

4. Tempest and Dragon

This is another comp in which Lulu and Bardo will be crucial to get you ahead in that first lane. However, you won’t need as many Level 5 cards, so you can hold on to Level 7 to try and save.

You’ll have the Dragon Ao Shin as a carry and Ornn as your front lane. In this composition you’ll start with Jade and transition to Tempest to provide you with a solid victory.

Opening cards: Ezreal, Karma, Taric, Ashe, Lee Sin (or Qiyana).

Closing cards: Lulu, Neeko, Hecarim, Ornn, Sona, Bardo and Ao Shin.

Key items: Ornn –> Bramble Vest, Dragon’s Claw and Warmog’s Armor; Ao Shin –> Infinity Edge, Spear of Sojin and Jeweled Gauntlet.
