Fall guys

Basic tips for surviving this insane game

Fall Guys has become a global phenomenon. Users like its crazy game style, reminiscent of the legendary programme Takeshi’s Castle, so much that it has won over loads of players and viewers. But this contest can be more complicated than it might seem at first glance. So, we have some basic tips to help you take the win in this peculiar battle royale from Devolver Digital.

Avoid other players

Although Fall Guys invites you to go with the crowd, the truth is they’ll slow you down. So you should avoid them. Sometimes it’s better to take a longer route if that means not running into all the other players. Plus, you’ll be able to dodge the funny guys who try to shove you into the void. Using the camera properly, you can anticipate the path the others will choose and dodge other obstacles.

But every tip has an exception. If you see loads of players crowding up, you can jump on top of them and pass over, which is extremely useful on more than one occasion. And if you’re new and don’t know where to go, the best tip is to stay with the group.

Use your surroundings

Sometimes you can use the elements of the game to dodge obstacles. For example, take advantage of the inflatables to jump over obstacles, especially in a race. When you come up against a rotating obstacle, always run towards it. That way, if you get pushed, you’ll shoot out in the right direction. The same is true of the rotating panels. If you run towards them, you’ll be able to jump over them more easily. Otherwise, they can drag you down. Grabbing on will only bother other players, this also applies to holding onto platforms so you don’t fall. It seems silly to say but always try to be one of the first to cross the finish line. The points you get at the end of each match depend on your position in the heats.

Specific tricks for the various levels of obstacles:
-Don’t try to be first on the doors.
- Try to jump from one hexagon to another instead of running to stay on longer.
- To steal a tail, find a high spot to predict how your enemies will move. And don’t forget to take advantage of the obstacles to keep from being followed.
- In race levels, you can take short-cuts: watch other players to learn where they are and how to use them. But above all, always follow the arrows. Even if it seems like a detour.
- For team levels, pay close attention to what yours is doing. It’s very tempting to attack but if no one is defending, the enemy can steal your eggs or score goals without opposition. You could be the one to prevent this.
