Best weapons

Melee

Pan: This weapon isn't just for banging people over the head. You can also use it as a shield—because no one wants to be stabbed in the backside without permission.

Assault rifles

SCAR-L: Handy and versatile, its combination of range and damage make it a great weapon to have by your side throughout the game.
M16A4: A more balanced option that does a little less damage but with a more manageable recoil and greater range.

Sniper rifles

AWM: With this sniper rifle, a shot to the head means instant death, never mind the helmet your opponent’s wearing.
M24: The second-best rifle if you can’t get hold of the AWM.

Submachine guns

Vector: With a high rate of fire, good recoil and equally damaging, the Vector is the best SMG you’ll come across in this game.
Tommy Gun: Its high rate of fire and damage makes this SMG one of the best weapons for taking out enemies in enclosed spaces and for short distances.

Machine gun

M249: Although assault rifles have a higher kill rate, the threat of a machine gun will scare your enemies into making mistakes or trying to flee, at which point this weapon shines with its ability to spit bullets. Carry one with you when playing squads to cover your team.

Shotguns

S12K: It may be less lethal than the DBS below, but with it being semi-automatic, having more ammo and great stability, it’s a great option to finish off your enemies in close combat.
DBS: With this weapon you’ll destroy whoever’s in your way at close range, in exchange for not being able to miss the shot due to its low cadence.

Pistols

P92: The most balanced pistol in the game: good cadence, accuracy and overall performance.

Grenades

Molotov Cocktail: This versatile throwable weapon is great for setting enclosed spaces aflame or creating barriers between you and your opponents.
Smoke Grenade: These can be your best chance of getting out of sticky situations alive, so make sure you always carry one with you.

How to prioritise equipment and accessories

All these weapons are great choices for combat, but be sure to give some thought to your accessories, too. You can attach accessories to weapons from the inventory, and if you find a better one, you can always trade up. Prioritise finding long-range scopes for your assault rifles and sniper rifles. These are great for exploring and provoking your rivals both from medium and long distances. You’ll also want to give the red dot sights for assault rifles and SMGs a chance, which will give you more precision in close combat. For the rest of the accessories, focus on trying to improve your weapons’ manoeuvrability. Controlling your aim is key to destroying your enemies, especially when the game gets tense.
